Velez has learned about the mistakes done in the past seasons. Playing both tournaments with almost the same team and being defeated in Copa Sudamericana and the local league.

Last season even Castroman injured and Velez lost everything. It was a "do or nothing" bet.

This season the coach planned to build two teams, one for the local league and other for the Copa Libertadores, at this point the top priority in the club.

For this tournament, the coach Russo will put all the best players in the team, they dont play the league matches, so they are really rested, and it works, because in the last three matches, Velez won 3. Two for the local league and 1 for the Copa Libertadores against Liga Deportiva Universitaria, in Quito, Ecuador.

With perfect form, the coach will have this time the first match at home in a rather easy group in Libertadores, against Rocha.

This is a very small club in Uruguay, formed 6 years ago, and they surprised the Uruguayan soccer, being the last champion. It was the first club in Uruguay winning the title, without being a club in the Capital City, Montevideo. They are from Maldonado.

They have played one match in the Copa Libertadores so far, against Universitario, it was a 0-0 match, very balanced and with fewer scoring chances.

By the way, Velez scored 3 goals in the last match against LDU, in a very hard match, but being well played in the attacking line.

In Argentina, Gracian-Castroman-Zarate are one of the most attacking trio, and when they are in the first squad, Velez almost always score.

Somoza is another guy very important in the team, he even scored in Libertadores and the local league.

Velez plays this match with high confidence, 3 matches won in the last 3 games, perfect record. Last year, they played 3 matches in Sudamericana and it was undefeated at home.

I think Velez will win 3 points to stay on top of the group and the coach will start thinking in the local league.

VELEZ: Gastón Sessa, Fabián Cubero, Maximiliano Pellegrino, Hernán Pellerano, Marcelo Bustamante, Maximiliano Bustos, Leandro Somoza, Ariel Broggi, Leandro Gracián, Lucas Castromán y Rolando Zárate.
ROCHA: Alvaro García, Matías González, Diego Bonelli, Diego Sosa, Diez Cis, Luis Maguregui, Martín González, Pablo Esquivel, Heber Caro, Pedro Cardozo y Marcelo Segales
